I know. Y'all are probably screaming right now, "Where is the news!!!" Seeing as nothing has changed (deadlock anyone?) since the last report, I have decided to deviate a little and discuss a few things with the community (if anyone reads this blog at all >_>)
So as we know, European players are once again in a strong position. I have tried to pin this down. I have looked over data from an entire day's fight. It seems that the EFEC is pretty much evenly matched throughout the day, until about 3-7 PM (GMT -5). One of my friends is a top rank Euro player, and he frequently talks about "meetings" with other Euro commanders. It hit me, what do they have that the others do not? Organization!
It seems that they figured out during War 1 what was addressed here. They put all their forces onto one territory. That explains how they took over America in two turns. This time, the US has some decent players and are actually giving the Euros a run for their money. With America being Europe's focus, now is the perfect time for a concentrated push on the Iberian Peninsula (wink wink Russia, this means you)
In other news, Endwar DLC was announced.... the day before release. Fixes aside, there are many interesting bits in here that could definitely improve the game.
To preface this, I have a message for the devs.
MAKE THE NEW MAPS TOW FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
Think about the locations for the new maps. West Virginia (lol), Ukraine, Spain, Britain. All of these location seem strategically valuable.
West Virginia could act as a buffer, another obstacle standing between attackers and DC. The open nature of the map seems to act against Europe, who tend to get chewed up quickly in open areas. Same applies with Ukraine.
A Spanish Navel Base would, like the others, act as a buffer. Unlike the others, it is a Raid map. This would add a nice mix to the Iberian front (let's face it, raids can either end really well, or go FUBAR in a minute).
Lastly is Britain. I don't know how this will fit into the whole "Britain is neutral" bit of the storyline, but whatever. The map seems more confined, which plays to Europe's strength, but we will have to wait to see what kind of tactical impact it would have in a TOW setting.
And then there are the new upgrades. The European Computer and American Thermobaric (ouch) warhead do not seem to be much more then an extra munition to use. On the other hand, the Russian upgrade looks to help counter a major flaw in their design. Now, I understand that Russia is supposed to be slow and powerful, but a couple chopper units can rip up tanks before transports can arrive. Not so for other factions. The anti-air gun will be a great addition that will prevent the need for constant Tank-Transport babysitting.

In a surprise move, European Commando forces attacked the southern US en mass. One private spoke with RFNN correspondent Dmitri Kurkov. Stationed at the (now under siege) Kennedy Space Center, he spoke only on the condition of anonymity.
"We were told that supply shipments would be coming that day. When we saw ships in the distance, we did not sound alarm. We knew something was wrong when warplanes came streaming out of our airfield, heading straight for the ships."
The next day was "a complete Hell." The United European Navy began bombarding the eastern seaboard, primarily using the Espada Class battleships. The attack on Pascagoula was called off and all forces diverted to defend the Center. European forces continue advances past Okefenokee into Pamlico and Maxwell Air Force Base. The U.E.N. continues hitting our forces hard at the Space Center. While morale is high, proceedings are already beginning to expedite a large scale troop withdrawal, instead focusing on Midwestern America.
The home front situation is completely opposite to the American one. Another team of JSF covert-ops attempted to take Rondane port, but found out that SAM sites are always watching. Thessaly is, once again, under attack from European forces. Thessaly and Matera have changed hands numerous times during the course of the war, and ground commanders predict a RGB victory within a few days. Commanders hope to secure territory all the way to Arrabida.
A reminder:
Aeroflot has discontinued all international service. Air traffic will be substantially decreased over the next month. Government officials plan a shuttle service to Poland for all Russians seeking international travel.
In related news, all passports and documents allowing for travel to the US have been revoked. All Russian citizens living in America are now officially recalled.

It is official, the world is at war.
Diplomatic talks between the European Federation and America broke down yesterday as American warships began shelling the Iberian Peninsula. JSF forces were quick to secure Arrabida, establishing a strong perimeter around the region. At the same time, special forces units known as "Marine Force Recon" are assaulting the port city of Copenhagen. Scania Provence residents have reported seeing high altitude bombers fly over, followed by explosions.
Russia was the victim of two unprovoked attacks on key cities. European forces took a Russian Occupation Brigade by surprise, securing Matera and moving towards Thessaly. An entire brigade has been diverted to Thessaly, and the results have been extremely positive. Bar any major event, we will secure the region within the week.
In what we now believe was an attempt to flank Europe proper, American special forces attempted to take the port of Rondane. The helicopter based assault completely failed. Russian SAM sites went online immediately, destroying 90% of the choppers in the air. Those that did make it through the missile fire were met by Spetsnaz forces. The soldiers surrendered immediately, and chopper wreckage is being searched for possible survivors.
In response, Russia launched retaliatory strikes directed at taking America out of the picture. Grissom airbase, home of the A-20 (a ground attack jet) fell in a two day raid by Spetsnaz forces. In addition, moments before we were set to publish our report, news came of an attack on the Kennedy Space Center. It is believed that this strike was aimed at preventing future supply launches to aid America's "Freedom Star" project.

War 1 ends with European victory.
As many have realized, War 1 has ended. Europe secured DC, eliminating the JSF as a contender. Instead of allowing JSF players to temporarily join the other two forces, the developers saw fit to end the war outright. I strongly disagree with this decision. Endwar is about world domination. How can one side claim victory when another force still holds strong? Regardless, what is done is done. On to War 2.

America sees this as a war for revenge now. Do you realize that any chance at peace, or a future relationship is now [expletive] because someone had the nerve to launch a nuclear strike WITHOUT MY [expletive] AUTHORITY??? You should be ashamed to call yourselves Russians."
These are the words of the Spetsnaz Brigade Commander Yarakov following confirmation that two nuclear devices detonated in the western United States. The devices were two high-yield 40 MT warheads mounted on ICBM platforms. The missiles penetrated Americas missile shield, which had been compromised by a combination of sorties and anti-sat missile launches. The bomb directed at Las Vegas malfunctioned and detonated prematurly at 30,000 feet. Casualty reports are still incoming, but a five-mile area radiating from the city center is reported to have been "incinerated." The Los Angeles bomb detonated at 500 feet. The city is expected to lose it's entire population.
It has become apparent that the Politburo went over the Commander's head in ordering the strike, and it appears that the cabinet overruled the President, who earlier declared nuclear munitions "Out of the equation."
The events that transpired effected more then American-Russian relations. European officials quickly condemned the strike, and while the two powers are at war, European leaders offered condolences to America.
"Our deepest sympathy for the deaths incurred as a result of the Russian Nuclear Initiative. While we may be at war, this coalition has made every effort to avoid any civilian casualties. The actions of those vodka drinking pigs is deplorable. Again, our deepest sympathy."
The Euros backed up the rhetoric with harsh actions against the motherland. We are being sandwiched at the moment, with only six territories secured. On the American front Grissom, Springfield, Shenandoah, and Campbell are all in Russian hands. Our DC and Reagan Seabase raids both fell flat, resulting in yet another retreat into the American heartland.
The other, even more dramatic blow to Russian war efforts is the newly born uncertainty of the Chinese. They continue to supply our forces with munitions, but are now reconsitering full military aid. Reports have leaked that a pivitol point of the negotiations was that, upon conquering America, China would have full control over the western half. Obviously, this is no longer feasable. Additionally, India has threatened China with war should they join forces with the "NewSSR."

The Russian, American, and Chinese missile shields were tested on the 20th, following the world's first exchange of WMD fire.
The morning began like most other have, with one exception. Reports came in stating that the US brought it's forces to DEFCON 1, the maximum alert level. Russia responded in kind.
This was caused by an overnight deal on the 19th that guaranteed a full, military alliance between Russia and China. The launch reported last week went off without a hitch, and the shield shortly went online. On the 20th, it became clear how monumental that decision was.
Following the alerts, the Russian Air Force launched a major operation with the intent of knocking out the KRPMS system. Fighters flew at up to 100,000 feet, equipped with long range anti-satellite missiles. While our system can track and destroy missiles, Kinetic Rods cannot be tracked by our current technology. Disabling the site was a key element of the strike. Thirteen ICBMs were launched from silos across Russia just as anti-sat munitions were reaching their targets. The missiles split into two groups. Seven targeted the eastern states, six on the west.
The KRPMS satellite was, quite literally, cut in half. Two rods were already in launch mode and fired despite the damage to the satellite. One rod fell into the atmosphere and is suspected to have splashed down in the Indian Ocean. The Russian Navy is now combing the area around Indian waters, despite the protests from the country's leaders. The second rod hit a nearby US defence satellite.
Europe activated an emergency broad spec continuous EMP pulse, hoping to defeat missiles heading towards their territory. This is why we have been unable to get war reports from Moscow. We have gathered bits and pieces, but not enough to file a full report.
What we do know is that American anti-ballistic satellites fired thirteen shots. It has been confirmed that all missiles aimed at the east have been shot down. It is unknown if the two remaining missiles on the west detonated or were defeated, but a hacker has uncovered missile targets.

Leading commanders now admit that they underestimated the tenacity of American forces.
The JSF made major advancements yesterday, recapturing all but two territories from our forces. Three Mile Island, Shenandoah Valley, and Springfield are now all securely in American hands following a brilliant raid led by Scott Mitchell himself. The lead commander for the JSF and always verbal Mitchell announced that,
"We are well on our way to securing our home turf. The Russian pests will be gone within a week."
The Kremlin responded by passing emergency legislation to bring our nuclear arsenal to full readiness. The Russian Air Force, much like efforts in Europe, has been flying continuous sorties to disable as many anti-missile satellites as possible. Not to be outdone, American Kenetic Rod Penetration Munitions Satellites(KRPMS)have been positioned over Russia. There is no doubt that this is the closest we have ever come to a exchange of WMDs since the Cuban Missile Crisis some sixty years ago.
This, unfortunately, is not the end of bad news. Once again Europe is back to fighting a single front war. JSF forces in Europe have been all but eradicated, leaving no other enemy to fight. Copenhagen and Istra have once again been lost, with Vlore under attack. While these have long been swing regions, the loss of the American/Euro front will lead to a large forward push in the near future. The planned voluntary Moscow recall scheduled to take effect in six days has been called off and troops dig in, once again, for the possibility of war in Moscow.

In the event of a nuclear exchange, we will without doubt be off the air for some time. The Chinese have rushed the launch of their anti-missile space platform to take place tomorrow. Russian forces are on the offense today, pushing back hard in America, and eliminating Euros on Russian soil.
We would like to preface this report with an apology. Our transmission tower was hit by an EMP burst of unknown origin. It is believed that the Euros picked up on our transmission and thought it a threat. We are back online and hope to continue these daily reports.
We made advancements on the American front since the last report. While our attack on DC failed, it was intended to be a diversionary strike, not a decisive one. Three Mile Island is a contested region that the SGB sees as a decisive region. Not only would the fusion reactors prove extremely beneficial, the site would also serves as a buffer zone. Despite best efforts, the Europeans continue to hold the USS Reagan base. With any luck, a recent JSF move will help to weaken both forces.
The rumors are true, the Americans are in Europe. What follows is a report directly from the Kremlin, freshly declassified.
"It has come to our attention that, as of 08/02/2020, Europe has been attacked by American forces. They are currently holding Portuguese territory, and are moving into Spain and France proper. While we do not condone nor rebuke these actions, we will give America the same warning we gave Europe. We have not deployed our most powerful munitions in the American front. We still believe that a peaceful compromise can be attained. However, we will not tolerate invasion of our sovereign territory. Such an intrusion by America will lead to immediate reaction. That is all."
Now that we are not overseen by the KGB, we must point out the hypocrisy in the former statement. After all, have we not invaded the American mainland?

Russian forces are on the offense today, pushing back hard in America, and eliminating Euros on Russian soil.
We would like to preface this report with an apology. Our transmission tower was hit by an EMP burst of unknown origin. It is believed that the Euros picked up on our transmission and thought it a threat. We are back online and hope to continue these daily reports.
We made advancements on the American front since the last report. While our attack on DC failed, it was intended to be a diversionary strike, not a decisive one. Three Mile Island is a contested region that the SGB sees as a decisive region. Not only would the fusion reactors prove extremely beneficial, the site would also serves as a buffer zone. Despite best efforts, the Europeans continue to hold the USS Reagan base. With any luck, a recent JSF move will help to weaken both forces.
The rumors are true, the Americans are in Europe. What follows is a report directly from the Kremlin, freshly declassified.
"It has come to our attention that, as of 08/02/2020, Europe has been attacked by American forces. They are currently holding Portuguese territory, and are moving into Spain and France proper. While we do not condone nor rebuke these actions, we will give America the same warning we gave Europe. We have not deployed our most powerful munitions in the American front. We still believe that a peaceful compromise can be attained. However, we will not tolerate invasion of our sovereign territory. Such an intrusion by America will lead to immediate reaction. That is all."

Reporting from Eastern Russia
Russia's foreign ministry are currently in high level talks with China, hoping to receive immediate support from the PLA.
We begin this report with news from the home front. Our southern line has utterly collapsed. Overnight, European forces took control of Thessaly and Ft. Levski, which gives Europe unhindered control of the Mediterranean Sea. One can only assume that these shipping routes will be used to transport military resources. The only beacon of hope left is Carpathia, which our forces are holding with all their might. Sevastopol is back in our hands after what was, to be honest, a pitiful attack.
An the north, all is holding steady. Our special forces are launching attacks on Copenhagen, intent on capturing the port back from Europe.
It is no exaggeration to say that the Euros are the biggest threat to the motherland since the Germans in WWII. With this in mind, government officials are working with the Chinese to secure an alliance. The details of this alliance are still being worked out, but it can be assumed that it will involve military support. Obviously, the United States is working to stop this deal, making their own concessions to the Chinese. It is important to note that China is not covered by the US/EUR or Russian missile shield programs. Initial reports indicate that Western American ICBM sites are on a high level of alert, called "Defcon 2".
The American front is going slightly better then yesterday. We have secured Grissom Air Base and Springfield, giving the SGB another shot at the Three Mile Island complex. Although America secured Ft. Campbell last night, Spetsnaz responded almost immediately, attacking the base with gusto. Shenandoah Valley is again under attack by Americans, but battalion commanders foresee victory in the area.
European forces have been driven out of Pamlico, and are once again pushed back to Okefenokee. Citizens of the region have been seen fighting alongside the JSF, trying to once again, push the invaders off of American soil.

Moscow has been 60% evacuated. A bomber crashed into the H-57 junction last night. This was the main east-west highway junction in the area, and the loss has delayed evacuation efforts. Highway 1 has been reopened on a temporary basis for military traffic only. It will periodically shut down to accept air traffic, and any private citizen using the highway cannot be guaranteed safe passage.

The government is trying to suppress rumors that it will pull forces out of America to help fight on the home front.
Following initial successes in the region, leading Spetsnaz brigades to the outskirts of Washington, Russia has lost both territory and the initiative. Two more high ranking officials have been removed from the American battlefield for trial in Moscow relating to multiple critical errors that severed communication between ground commanders and our air forces. The result was another major loss of American territory. Russia now holds only three territories. Grissom Air Base, Ft. Campbell, and Shenandoah Valley are all currently held by our forces, with only the latter being completely secured. The other two are currently being heavily attacked by JSF forces. We are now attacking Springfield, hoping to regain some forward momentum.
Rumors have been swirling about Moscow that the SGB has contemplated a staged withdrawal from America. An obviously frustrated officer gave our network a brief response.
"The notion that [we will] remove our forces from a key battleground is utterly preposterous. From day one, America has a key linchpin in our plans. Anyone spreading this [expletive] should be reported to the nearest official."
While our losses in America are proving damaging, Europe has benefited greatly from the shaky fronts. The Enforcers used their acquisition of the Reagan Seabase to ship massive amount of forces to southern America. Okefenokee has, once again, fallen to Euros. They used the region as a base to launch attacks into Pamlico. Should they secure this area, they will have a direct shot at our southeast front. This could prove damaging.
The homefront is shaping up even worse. Copenhagen has fallen to the Europeans, leaving Rondane our only Atlantic shipping base left. All are praying that initial reports of possible US/EURO sea battles pan out, as this will effectively weaken the shipping fleets for both nations.

These strikes missed critical targets, and are blamed for the failure to take DC. The colonels both have been transported to Moscow for trial, and eventual execution.
The loss in DC is not the only setback Russia faces on the American front. American forces sent special forces squads to Three Mile Island, and have retaken the complex. Additionally, with DC secure, JSF brigades have been diverted and are now attacking Shenandoah Valley and Ft. Campbell. The Enforcers are now fighting for Okefenokee, which has seen it's fair share of fighting since the war began. The Europeans have also secured the USS Reagan base. To quote a battalion commander, "This could get interesting."
On the home front, Europe has ignored our demand to cease hostilities in Eastern Europe. Our chemical arsenals are now at maximum alert, and all forces not engaged in America are rushing to head off the European advance. Rumors that forces are trying to disable the missile shield to allow for nuclear strikes have been denied by the Kremlin.
"This is a war that does not require our nuclear arsenal. We are still open to a peaceful solution. All it requires is the cessation of hostilities by the European Enforcers."
A reminder: All Moscow residents are advised to memorize your assigned evacuation route. In the unlikely event that the city requires evacuation SGB forces will be working to get all citizens out of the city as quickly as possible. We have secured the northern half of the United States. Fierce fighting last week resulted in heavy casualties on both sides. In the end, the Spetsnaz Guard Brigade succeeded in taking over Shenandoah Valley and the Three Mile Island nuclear plant.
US Forces stationed at the USS Reagan Seabase have surrendered, having been cut off from friendly forces.
Our forces are now moving towards America's capital, Washington DC. We expect to take over the city within three weeks. American forces are trying to reestablish the initiative in Western Europe, and are attempting to take over Arrabida.
In other news, the EFFC continues to push deeper towards Russian territory. The Kremlin issued a final warning to European commanders.
"We demand all European forces withdraw immediately from Eastern Europe. Any further advancement will result in an IMMEDIATE military response."
All citizens are reminded that a draft has been imposed for all men ages 18 to 40, and all women ages 20-30.
